CVSing for the first time

Ok, so I said I was going to try saving money and that I would post about it. Well, today was my first time shopping at CVS using ECBs and trying to roll them over. I think I did pretty good for the first time but I messed up on a few transactions and had to change some products so I spent a little more OOP then planned. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with what I got which is all this for $17.85.

CVS Loot

Here's a breakdown of the cost and savings.
Total cost before coupons and ECBs: $50.59
For a total savings of: $32.74
Remaining ECBs: $13.99

My OOP would of been less but I forgot to give them my ECBs with my coupons on one transaction plus they didn't have the 4.99 Ambi product I wanted and had to get one that cost more. All in all I think I'll continue to try and get the hang of it. Maybe I'll even give WG's a try!

8 Weeks

Haley 8 wks

I can't believe it baby girl today you are 8 wks old. You're getting so big. You smile alot more and I can tell when you want to laugh by your smile and the expressions you make. I can't really explain it but it's sooo cute. You can definitely taste now and tell the difference between the breast and the paci. You're also talking a lot more, oh my do you LOVE to talk and be talked to. And you're such a drama queen I kid you not. The cries you give and the faces you make are sooo dramatic cute. Haley, you are such a strong girl you're able to stand up for awhile (you know what I mean) and if I put you on your side you can turn over on your tummy or back this usually depends on which way the light is. Yep for some strange reason you love the light. You're just moving right along my love, I just wish you could slow down. Ahh, such is life.

So good to be home

I am sooo glad to be home or should I say we. We left town on Thurs. due to Ike paying a visit, and it was no vacation. My poor baby was miserable and so was I. She was ontop of me the entire time, she wanted no one but me. Plus she was just cranky, her poor daddy couldn't even calm her down and I usually hand her over for him to do just that. Ah, but once we got home all was right in the world once again.

We actually arrived back into town on Sun. evening thankfully our home suffered no damage but we had no power. So, we stayed with my in-laws bless them for taking a screaming Haley us in. We got our power back Tues. evening and we were so ready to go home. There's nothing like sleeping in your own bed!

The M&M's Favorite Sandwich

Ok, I just have to tell you how good this sandwich is. Yum, Yum, YUM!! 'Nuff said. No, seriously it really is delish and soooo easy to make. My family really enjoyed it however my poor hubby doesn't get to fully experience this masterpiece of yumminess cuz he's allergic to onions. (Poor baby) He would eat them if I let him cuz he loves them but for some strange reason I prefer him ALIVE. Geesh go figure!

Anyway I got this wonderful recipe off my very favorite cooking blog The Pioneer Woman. You have to go pay her a visit she is sooo funny and all her recipes are awesome. Ok, ok I haven't tried them all, but I plan to. So go on over and visit her and her punks.

Ike's a coming?

Well, it seems like there is a real good chance that Ike will pay us a visit or at least let his presence be known. I am not happy about this and not for the obvious reasons. More like because now I'll have to wash our clothes, get packed, clean the house, have to take pics of or video the house for insurance purposes, etc. In other words work! Which also means I have to do what I can tonight while Haley sleeps, during the day it's harder for me to leave her sight. Man, I wish I had one of those sling thingies. (Yea, I said thingie.)

We did find out at church tonight that it will be open if we want to ride the storm out there. We may do this depending on how severe Ike becomes. So, it's pretty much wait and see but be prepared for the worst. So, I guess I better get to it...

Dedication

Haley & Bro. Wheat

Today we dedicated Haley. My baby looked so beautiful in her little dress. We even waited to put it on her till right before the dedication to avoid any accidents and you were such a good girl you waited till it was over to have one.

It was a very deep moment for me. As I listened to Bro. Wheat say a few words and once he asked if we would do our best to raise you according to the Word and to instill it in your heart I realized what a huge task I had ahead of me. I thought about the blessing you are; the answer to a prayer said so long ago, how he saved you and the enormity of His love just blew me away once again. What a perfect way to show my love for you both; to give back to Him what he has given me and to give to you the love and truth He has given me. Thank you, Jesus for my precious baby girl! I love you both.

Shopping With Coupons

Money has been a little tight around here with a new baby, school shopping, glasses, medical expenses due to the new baby plus an extra mouth to feed. This has me seriously thinking about trying my hand at using coupons especially at WG or CVS. I've been reading some great blogs that post all about their fabulous savings and all this great free stuff they get. It really makes me jealous.

So, I've looked into getting the Sunday paper delivered cuz I always forget to stop and buy it at the store plus it's cheaper this way. I also found a free class in my area about using coupons, you know how to get the most out of them, organizing, best ways to get coupons etc. Did I mention it's FREE? Now I just have to get the general concept of shopping and using coupons at WG or CVS to get the best deals. I've found a few sites that break it down and plan to read up on it. Don't worry once I get the gist of it and try my hand at it I'll blog all about it. *smile*

In the mean time if you want to know more visit Money Saving Mom
to learn all about using coupons. Have fun!

Uh...Who are you?

Ok, surely I am not the only forgetful person in the world? Please, tell me I'm not I hate being alone. You're probably wondering what in the world I'm talking about. Well, today we went grocery shopping and while there I kept running into people who knew me and wanted to see the baby or know if I was going back to work. Blah, blah, blah. So while I'm conversing with them I'm also trying to figure out who in the world they are. I'm not talking just their name I mean how exacatly do I know you. Yeah, it's that bad, but I play it off really well surely that counts for something.

6 weeks

Haley 6 wks
Wow! I can't believe my baby girl is six weeks today. It seems like just yesterday that we brought you home. You and I have come a long way, especially with this breastfeeding thing. There have been times when I've just wanted to throw in the towel, cuz let me tell you it don't come naturally. However, I'm sooo glad I stuck it out. I enjoy watching you feed and having this special time that's all ours. Your daddy says that's the main reason I did it and he's right your mom is selfish. Sad, but true. Hey, I'm working on it! Let's see what are some things you're doing now. You were holding your head up when you were born plus you would follow things (cell phone light). Now you're holding your head up longer, you smile and you mimmick certain sounds. It's just the cutest thing. At your last check up you weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz. Which made me so happy cuz I can't tell if you're eating enough, obviously you're doing just fine. I love you baby girl and can't wait to see what you do next.
